Last week in Noles Sports, our teams dominated the Week, coming out with eleven combined victories and a slew of highlights from our athletes. On Wednesday our Varsity Boys Golf team started their season off strong with a solid win over Maclay School at the Southwood Golf Course. Our Team was led by eighth grade phenom, Drew Jones, who posted a solid score of 39.
Not to be outdone our Girls golf team headed to Walton County to compete against rival South Walton High School, bringing back a victory and extending their dominance in the district. Paced by Savannah Bonn, with a low score of 44, our girls would out score South Walton 223-243.
On the hardwood, the FSUS Volleyball Team completely dominated the week, bringing home 5 victories in 7 days. The FSUS Volleyball team, led by seniors Ashtyn Tilton, Jhordyn Stallworth, Jada Rhodes, Carlee Allbaugh, and De’Asia Hill showed their might winning all but one set on the week. FSUS would complete their dominance with a 3-0 victory over Episcopal; avenging last year’s playoff loss.
Our other programs would not overshadow FSUS Swim and Dive. Competing against Rickards and Godby in a double dual meet, our swimmers dominated the day. FSUS Girls were led by Avery Tangen, Amelia Kraemer, Maddie AIttama, Rebekah Tucker, and diver Jodi Cobb, each with 1st place finishes. FSUS Boys would also seal their victories with lead performances by Robert McCrackin and Jackson Cobb; each with two 1st place finishes. Jackson Cobb would also go on to break the Florida High School record in the 200IM.
The Gridiron would prove to be no different from our other sports, with Florida High dominating cross-town rival, FAMU High, 41-0. Led by Alfred Menjor’s three touchdown performance and a stifling defensive performance; our Men of the Gridiron would completely dominate FAMU High from start to finish and reaffirming the Big Bend area that we are still the team to beat.
